The second leg of the home and away Mana challenge was played this week at Mana. Another grand battle with very well matched games, this came down to the last match of the night – won by Kapiti!

Well done Kapiti team – another cup for the trophy cabinet!!

Last week a selected team of players from Kapiti were matched up with a team from Levin to contest the cup that Kapiti won last year on a count back of games.  This year, in Levin, it came down to a count back on games again, but this time Levin won 20-19!

Jeff, Simon, Gary, Chris, Mike, Seamus, Kirsty, Caitlin, Taran, Georgia and Kerri did a great job for Kapiti, with some close games and good match-ups.

Next up is the Mana Challenge on Tuesday 20 August at Mana….Go Kapiti!!

Yes they did it! The defending champions went to New Plymouth and won the A D Long Masters Cup for the second year in a row. Not a bad effort from the old fellas!  Congratulations team, great effort!

Last year two teams of Kapiti Masters competed in the A D Long Cup Team competition, and one of those teams came out the overall winners. This year the A D Long Cup Team Championships are being hosted at Kawaroa Park in New Plymouth from 2 – 4 August. The defending champions from Kapiti will be back to do battle and try and bring the silver back again.  Good luck to the teams…

Junior club days are currently “on hold” until we can find someone to run the sessions.  If you are a parent / club member and would like to lend a hand with Junior club day please contact a committee member ASAP!!

Well the SuperChamps are done and dusted for this year, and all the teams can be very proud of their efforts. There was some super awesome squash played at Kapiti in the B-grade, with the finalists decided in the fifth game of the match. In the mens, Masterton beat Kapiti for first place, and in the womens, Hutt City came out on top.

Down at Mana, in the C grade event, our women battled well, throwing everything they had into the 6 team round robin. As our team captain Chrissy said…”all the hard work over the last months and weeks has come down to three games here and now…”  Unfortunately it was not to be for Kapiti, and the team from Tawa get to go to Nationals this year.

C Grade womens team: Chrissy, Olivia, Teegan, Emma, Georgie and Kirsty

Starting this Friday 21 June!! Get on down at 6.45pm and get your name in the draw. Players will be matched up in round robin draws of 3-4 players with games played from 7.00pm. See you there!
