After a weekend of pool play the kapiti ladies finished up in 5th place. Well done ladies, you all played really well and certainly gave some of the higher graded teams a good run.
The winners of the C grade ladies was Fraser Park.
Congratulations Fraser Park, good luck at the nationals
The mens team played Mitchel Park in the final today and after the 1st 4 games the game.score was locked up at 2 all however despite a fantastic effort the boys just couldn’t quite take it out losing 3-2.
Congratulations Mitchel Park, good luck at the nationals.
The weekend was a huge success with lots of positive feed back from the other clubs.
The most common comments were how good the club looked and that the players and mangers were made to feel welcome and they loved the good atmosphere.

Don’t forget we have a working bee tomorrow starting at 9am with a bbq lunch. . This is a quick tidy up to get the club looking good in time for the Kapiti Open tournament. There is a bit of painting some gardening new tape on the courts and some other bits and pieces.
After the recent Special General meeting we can now report we have a new president Neil Horsman, who will work with the also mostly new committee to run the ship in the foreseeable future. We would like to thank both Neil and Seamus for putting their hands up for the position. The new committee (in particular new vice-pres Chrissy and club captain Gary) have already started to amp things up with the Waitangi Summer Slam due to wind up tonight. This has been a well supported and successful tournament to kick off the new year and we look forward to supporting the committee during the 2017 squash year. Hayden Lloyd was also newly elected as Secretary and I am sure the rest of the 2017 committee will be introduced to you soon.
Recapping committee departures, we farewell Chris McKenzie, James Gould, Tim Seymour, and Simon Yorker. Shout these guys a drink next time your at the club as they have all made significant contributions in their time on the committee…..(Oh and me, I’m also out :))
Sorry about the late notice but we just heard that there could be power outages at the club tomorrow (Friday 27 January between 8:30am and 4:30pm).
