No doubt you are aware the country will be at Covid-19 level 4 in 48 hours. We have had the following message from Wellington Squash:

This is to confirm that every club will need to close their doors as we move into self-isolation.

This means we are shutting off the court lights from Wednesday 25 March for at least the next four weeks in line with the government advice for everyone to self-isolate.

Please take heed of the official advice to stay home, and stay healthy!  We’ll keep you posted as these extraordinary times play out.

The Kapiti Squash Club Committee

What it means for Kapiti Squash Club members

As you all will be aware, a global pandemic has been declared and because of this a number of things have changed in our daily lives. As we aren’t experts in this area the Kapiti Squash Club committee are taking advice from Squash New Zealand and Wellington Squash.

At this stage all tournaments and interclub squash have been suspended until 1 May. This may or may not be extended depending on circumstances closer to the time.

For now, the club is operating “business as usual” in terms of members being able to book courts etc and we will let you know if this changes.

The club will provide hand sanitiser, but note that this is hard to get at the moment and is for use at the club only

During this unprecedented period please respect our club and each other and ensure that we are not putting each other’s health in jeopardy. Follow the basic hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organisation and most importantly if you are unwell, or have been overseas, PLEASE stay away.

Thanks very much. Please keep calm, stay safe and healthy, and look after each other – at a respectful distance!
